1. Tell us a little about yourself!
Hi! I’m Erin—mom to a beautiful daughter and a passionate family photographer here in Madison. I love telling stories through my camera and helping families capture the moments they’ll cherish forever. When I’m not behind the lens, you’ll find me enjoying a cup of Moka or Starbucks coffee (let’s be real, it’s essential), exploring Madison’s parks and gardens, or just hanging out with my daughter.
2. What made you want to become a photographer?
Photography has always been my creative outlet, but it wasn’t until I had my own daughter that I realized just how precious these everyday moments are. I wanted to create a way to freeze those fleeting memories and give families photos they could treasure for a lifetime. It’s about more than just a pretty picture—it’s about capturing your story.
3. What’s your photography style?
I’d describe my style as relaxed, candid, and natural. I love capturing genuine moments, whether it’s a burst of laughter or a quiet hug. I try to keep things lighthearted and easygoing, so families can just be themselves and enjoy the experience without worrying about perfect poses.
4. Why do you love shooting family photos?
Family photos are so much more than just pictures—they’re memories. I love capturing the way siblings interact, the laughter that fills a room, or the quiet, tender moments between parents and children. These are the moments that we don’t always notice in the rush of daily life, and I feel honored to help families preserve them.
5. What do you love about living in Madison?
Madison is such a beautiful place to live and raise a family. From the lakes to the parks, there’s always something to explore. I love that we have so many outdoor spaces to shoot in, and the local community is just so welcoming and supportive. It’s a place where you can truly slow down and enjoy family time.
6. What’s your favorite part of a family session?
My favorite part of a session is seeing families laugh together and just enjoy the time they have with each other. It’s amazing how quickly kids warm up to the camera when they’re having fun, and I love seeing families connect in those natural, unposed moments.
7. What’s your go-to tip for families preparing for a session?
Relax and have fun! I always tell my clients to just be themselves—don’t stress over matching outfits or perfect poses. Some of the best photos come from the unplanned moments, and those little imperfections are what make your family unique. Also, bring snacks for the kiddos (trust me, it helps)!
8. Coffee or tea?
Coffee, 100%. I’m definitely a coffee-first kind of person.
9. What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I have a slight obsession with planning family vacations. Even though I can’t always travel as much as I’d like, I love researching new places to visit and dreaming up the next big adventure!
10. What’s your favorite thing about being a photographer?
It’s a true privilege to capture moments that will last a lifetime. Being invited into a family’s story and helping them create something tangible to remember their love, laughter, and memories—it’s honestly the most rewarding part of my job.
